The project
A 23-second self-portrait moving through photogrammetric scans of the inside and surface of my head. Made for the National #Selfie Portrait Gallery at Moving Image London, the film turns pores, hair, and facial geometry into a strange, unfolding landscape. Its title is a shortened URL that led to the original scan files.
I made the film as an animation hovering around the inside of my head. The models are self-scans captured through photogrammetry, which uses many photographs to infer three-dimensional information. I wanted a digital TMI self-portrait, full of pores and hair, unfolding like a strange landscape. The title was a shortened link to the original scans.
My role
I made the self-scans and the 23-second animation.
